THIN

by Kevin Struck

Late afternoon descended on the A-frame midway up the bluff overlooking the frozen lake where the children were skating. The three pairs of parents lounged around the great room, wine glasses in hand, laughing and catching up on events and milestones.      "A toast to another year together," said Robert, raising his glass high, while Stephanie and Julia added, "To dear friends!"

"Who fell through?" everyone yelled at once, each couple praying, Please not mine....      END
